"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Psalm 115:15

Karin went to be with her Heavenly father this morning. Let me share something with you about Karin, in case you do not know. Every day Karin woke up early. Her normal waking time was in between 4 and 4:30 am. Ugh! Even when sick, she still got up at that time. This morning was no different. At 4:25am Karin "put on her running shoes" and is now running around Heaven, CANCER FREE. She is healed! She was surrounded by her family and was very peaceful as she left her earthly home.

We are waiting to hear confirmation of the date of a memorial service. That information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

Please do not send flowers to the Carter house. I will have more information on an alternative when I post about the service.

All you have to do is read the comments on this blog to know that Karin has touched so many people her whole life, and especially in her journey over the last 4 months. Karin loved the Lord. Even in the midst of a storm, she loved Him no less. The same Heavenly Father that she loved, and is with right now, died on a cross for you and me also, so that we could one day see Karin again and spend an eternity with our Heavenly Father. It is free! And it is priceless. Read John 3:16. If you want me to pray with you about how to come into God's Kingdom, email me at bethey12@yahoo.com.

What a journey this has been...
When I think of Karin I think of this vibrant, bubbly, positive and amazingly friendly person. I think of the time we spent together at Celebration and how she touched so many lives during her time there. She always managed to know the names of all 250 students and parents there! I was always so amazed by that. She always had such a generous spirit and her love for her family and children was amazing. I would overhear her conversations with Jeff and tease her about them later, it was like, "I love you, no I love you more, and no I love you...” I would say "Yuck" and tease her and she would just laugh! Their love for each other was beautiful to watch!
I loved that there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her kids. She reminded me of a mother bear...loving and protecting them.
Today, I pray for comfort and peace. We'll never know why these things happen to good people. We are only so blessed to have had her touch our lives the way she did.
All our love,
Delilah and the Gillio family

Karin,

May your soul finally rest in peace and without pain. My heart is aching and I will miss you more than you will ever know...You have made a difference in my life and in the lives of so many others. I will be forever grateful for the way you have touched me, for your love, friendship, support, and inspiration. All of your family, friends, and even people that have never met you have been praying and hoping for a "VENTI MIRACLE - EXTRA HOT" these past few months. Karin, you have all along, and will continue to be our "VENTI MIRACLE AND HERO!" Thank you for your faith, strength and for the way you have made us all better people. Please know that we will ALWAYS be here for Jeff, Salina, and Noah and are committed to helping them in anyway that we can now and forever! I love you and will keep up my end of our promise. I will run Boston, 2008,for the both of us, but I know too that you will be right beside me going the distance to make sure I cross the finish line. Thank you in advance for that and for truly blessing me with your friendship. I am honored to be on your long list of friends.

Much love,

Nina

"Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am."

John 17:24
O death! why dost thou touch the tree beneath whose spreading branches weariness hath rest? Why dost thou snatch away the excellent of the earth, in whom is all our delight? If thou must use thine axe, use it upon the trees which yield no fruit; thou mightest be thanked then. But why wilt thou fell the goodly cedars of Lebanon? O stay thine axe, and spare the righteous. But no, it must not be; death smites the goodliest of our friends; the most generous, the most prayerful, the most holy, the most devoted must die. And why? It is through Jesus' prevailing prayer—"Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am." It is that which bears them on eagle's wings to heaven. Every time a believer mounts from this earth to paradise, it is an answer to Christ's prayer. A good old divine remarks, "Many times Jesus and his people pull against one another in prayer. You bend your knee in prayer and say 'Father, I will that thy saints be with me where I am'; Christ says, 'Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me whereI am.'" Thus the disciple is at cross-purposes with his Lord. The soul cannot be in both places: the beloved one cannot be with Christ and with you too. Now, which pleader shall win the day? If you had your choice; if the King should step from his throne, and say, "Here are two supplicants praying in opposition to one another, which shall be answered?" Oh! I am sure, though it were agony, you would start from your feet, and say, "Jesus, not my will, but thine be done." You would give up your prayer for your loved one's life, if you could realize the thoughts that Christ is praying in the opposite direction—"Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am." Lord, thou shalt have them. By faith we let them go.

We mourn but as people with great hope. We are greatful for the years God blessed us with Karin. To go where she is now one must have faith as Jeff and Karin have.
Dearest family know you are loved by many and an Awesome Lord. To God be the Glory!

Salina,

You are all I have been thinking of since monday on our way home from San Diego. You have become so important to me. More like a sister than a friend. I love you so much and will always be here by your side.

your friend forever,

Coley

"THOUSANDS OF CANDLES CAN BE LIT FROM A SINGLE CANDLE,AND THE LIFE OF THAT CANDLE WILL NOT BE SHORTENED. HAPPINESS NEVER DECREASES BY BEING SHARED."
BUDDA
this made me think of the the day we did the hope walk for you. no one will ever know the amount of candles you lit and continue to light. your light will continue to burn bright in all those who have had a chance to meet you, hear of you and be touched by you.
